Ukraine's Capital Under Siege: A Tale of Devastation and Diplomacy
Russia launched its deadliest attack on Kyiv this year, flattening a section of an apartment block. The assault, involving drones and missiles, killed 16 and wounded 124. Ukrainian President Zelenskiy condemned the attack as terrorism and urged global action, while seeking support at the G7 summit.

Kyiv faced its deadliest attack this year, as Russian drones and missiles devastated a section of an apartment block, killing 16 and injuring 124 in the Ukrainian capital. The assault prompted President Volodymyr Zelenskiy to call for international condemnation and action against what he labeled as 'pure terrorism.'
The Russian defense ministry stated that their strikes, which included air, sea, and land-based missiles, targeted Ukraine's military-industrial complex in Kyiv and the southern Zaporizhzhia province. The attack left significant damage across 27 locations in Kyiv, including residential, educational, and critical infrastructures.
As the conflict enters its fourth year, Ukraine seeks more international support. President Zelenskiy attended the G7 summit in Canada, aiming for stronger sanctions against Russia. However, U.S. President Donald Trump has shifted U.S. policy and left the summit early, calling instead for Russia's readmission to the G7.
