Uttar Pradesh Government Halts Transfers Amid Corruption Allegations

The Uttar Pradesh government acted swiftly on Thursday, placing an immediate halt on the transfers of 88 sub-registrars and 114 junior assistants within the stamp and registration department. This decision follows allegations of irregularities, prompting state officials to launch a thorough investigation.

Ravindra Jaiswal, Minister of State for Stamp and Registration, revealed that the issue reached Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, who quickly responded by ordering the suspension of all transfers and initiating an inquiry. Both the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister have underscored a zero-tolerance approach to corruption.

The probe will thoroughly examine complaints related to the recent transfers, affecting both 59 serving and 29 newly-promoted sub-registrars, as well as 114 junior assistants. The government reiterated its commitment to uphold transparency and accountability within its administrative processes, vowing strict punishment for those found guilty.
