Nalin Prabhat, the Director General of Police in Jammu and Kashmir, convened a high-level security review meeting in Anantnag to evaluate the security landscape of south Kashmir ahead of the Amarnath Yatra.

Accompanied by top officers including Special DGP SJM Gillani and IGP Sujit Kumar, Prabhat later visited the primary areas along the pilgrimage route, assessing the preparedness of base camps at Nunwan and Chandanwari. The visit ensured that all logistic and security measures are effectively in place, as confirmed by a police spokesperson.

At a subsequent meeting in Pahalgam, attended by various police and intelligence officials, the DGP stressed enhancing security against potential threats and emphasized the need for close coordination for the peaceful execution of the pilgrimage to the 3,880-metre-high cave shrine, beginning July 3.
