Authorities have recovered an AK-47 assault rifle along with 37 live cartridges from an agricultural field near Ghoda Chakk village in Punjab's border district of Ferozepur. The discovery was made on Thursday, igniting concerns over cross-border drone activity.
The police believe the rifle and cartridges were likely delivered by a drone from across the India-Pakistan border. A tip-off prompted a search operation, leading to the recovery, said Senior Superintendent of Police Bhupinder Singh.
An FIR has been filed against unidentified individuals under the Arms Act and the Aircraft Act at Mamdot Police Station. Authorities are continuing their investigation to determine the source and purpose of these military-grade items.
