A tragic incident has struck Odisha's Puri district, where a 15-year-old girl is battling for her life after being set ablaze. Currently receiving treatment at AIIMS Delhi, her condition remains critical, with 75% burns. Sources confirmed she was airlifted from AIIMS Bhubaneswar.
According to AIIMS Delhi, the teenager is in the Intensive Care Unit of the Burns and Plastic Surgery block, with a dedicated team of doctors monitoring her around the clock. She remains on oxygen support, highlighting the severity of her condition. Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi lamented the incident, urging the government to ensure top-notch treatment and facilities.
Police investigations revealed the attack involved three motorcycle-borne assailants who intercepted and set the girl on fire. Locals managed to extinguish the flames before rushing her to a local hospital. Authorities have apprehended several suspects as the investigation continues.
