Court Denies AP Appeal on Access to Presidential Events
The U.S. Court of Appeals denied The Associated Press's bid to restore full access to presidential events. This follows a dispute over access since February when Trump restricted AP's presence after a naming disagreement regarding the Gulf of Mexico. The court will consider full merits this fall.

The U.S. Court of Appeals has rejected The Associated Press's request for a hearing to regain full access to presidential events, maintaining the White House's control over media access to President Donald Trump.
This decision stems from an earlier move in February where Trump barred AP journalists from certain events following the outlet's refusal to adopt his naming preference for the Gulf of Mexico.
The Associated Press had previously secured a district court ruling affirming media access, but the Trump administration successfully delayed its implementation. The case's full merits will be addressed by the appeals court in the fall.
