A shocking incident unfolded in Mumbai as a 12-year-old boy accidentally fired a pistol, resulting in the arrest of Sangita Nair. The firearm, discovered by the boy in a garbage heap, caused panic when he accidentally discharged it in front of his friends.

According to a police official from the Dahisar police station, the boy had been visiting Nair's home with his aunt, who works there as domestic help. Unbeknownst to his guardians, the boy found the pistol in a cupboard and took it home.

The boy fled the scene of the incident, leaving the weapon behind. Police have since apprehended Nair, who owns the gun, under the Arms Act. An investigation is ongoing to determine the origins and legality of the firearm.
