Delhi Police have successfully dismantled a notorious gang operating in Rohini and adjoining areas with the arrest of seven individuals, including the gang's receivers and intermediaries of stolen goods, officials confirmed on Monday.
The operation led to the recovery of 26 snatched mobile phones, a stolen motorcycle, a dismantled two-wheeler, and a laptop allegedly used to reprogram stolen devices. The investigation began after a snatching incident on July 10 near NBC Bakery in Rohini Sector 6-7, where two motorcycle-riding assailants attacked a woman.
Key arrests included Pawan alias Lalla and Abhitesh Gautam alias Cheedi from Karawal Nagar. Further interrogations led to the arrest of mediator Hemant alias Hemu, and receiver network individuals, Atul and Babar Malik, with the latter being a phone shop owner in Baghpat, UP. Vital evidence such as iPhones and a tampering laptop were seized, with investigations resolving 17 cases to date.
