In a startling development, a female sub-inspector stationed at Paschim Vihar East with the Delhi Police has been apprehended for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 20.50 lakh. This arrest follows a vigilant investigation initiated by the department's Vigilance wing, according to official sources.
The probe was launched after a city-based doctor and his son filed a complaint accusing the officer of demanding a Rs 50 lakh bribe in a matter concerning transfers and recruitment related to the Ministry of Home Affairs. Officials revealed that Rs 20.50 lakh was paid and recorded as part of the evidence.
New details have surfaced, implicating the sub-inspector in intimidation tactics, including physical assault on the complainants. Furthermore, scrutiny is now focusing on a male colleague of the officer, identified as a possible accomplice in the bribery case.
