A tragic incident unfolded in Faridabad as an auto driver allegedly poisoned his two children and himself, leading to their deaths, according to police reports on Monday.
The driver, Mohammad Nizam, 40, lived in Roshan Nagar with his children, Mohammad Dilshad, 11, and Saima Parveen, 12, along with his wife, Khushi. Domestic quarrels over Nizam's drinking habit led Khushi to move out three months ago, leaving the children in his care.
On Saturday night, Nizam reportedly fed a poisonous substance to his children before consuming it himself. Neighbors rushed them to the hospital when their health deteriorated, where Saima was declared dead, and Nizam and Dilshad passed away during treatment on Sunday. A police investigation is ongoing with cases registered and bodies handed over post-autopsy.
