The Punjab Police announced on Tuesday the successful dismantling of a cross-border arms smuggling module, capturing an operative working for a Pakistan-based smuggler.

Director General of Police Gaurav Yadav disclosed that the accused, identified as Bharatpreet Singh, was intercepted with a weapon consignment near the India-Pakistan border.

Preliminary investigations revealed Singh and his associates were receiving directives via drones to deliver weapons to criminal networks in Punjab. An FIR has been registered as police pursue further inquiries to expose the smuggling network.
