Odisha CM Extends Free Kitchens Amid Controlled Flood Situation

In a significant move to mitigate the impact of recent floods, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced an extension of free kitchen facilities across three districts. This decision comes as the state government continues its commitment to providing relief and support to affected communities.

The Chief Minister, accompanied by key officials, conducted an aerial survey to assess the flood-hit regions in Balasore, Bhadrak, and Jajpur. He emphasized that while the flood situation remains under control, extensive measures are still required to support the recovery process. As a result, free kitchens will serve two meals daily to 10,000 individuals for an additional week.

The government's rapid response includes deploying 45 relief teams and planning future restoration efforts. Majhi further urged district collectors to prioritize infrastructure assessments and compensate those with damaged properties. While challenges persist, the administration remains focused on ensuring public safety and rapid rehabilitation.
