Tragic Highway Attack: Woman Killed on Bareilly-Wazirganj

A 35-year-old woman named Amarvati lost her life, while her husband, Om Sharan, sustained injuries after an assault by unknown assailants on the Bareilly-Wazirganj Highway, local police reported on Thursday.
The incident occurred late Wednesday night as the couple was returning from a pilgrimage. According to police, the attackers intercepted their bike, demanded valuables, and attacked when met with resistance. Amarvati was fatally wounded with a sharp weapon, and her husband was also targeted and threatened.
Senior Superintendent of Police Anurag Arya explained that a call was received around 12:30 am reporting the crime. An FIR has been filed, and police are investigating potential motives, including robbery and murder. Jewelry and a mobile phone were found at the scene, raising questions about the real intent behind the attack. Two police teams are dedicated to apprehending the culprits.
