Matrimonial Scam Uncovered: Cross-Border Crime Busted at Dum Dum

In a startling revelation, a Bangladeshi national and a local woman were apprehended near a city airport for allegedly robbing a man they met through a matrimonial website, law enforcement officials reported on Friday.

The unsuspecting victim, who had recently joined the matrimonial platform, developed a supposed relationship with the woman via phone calls. They arranged an in-person meeting at a hotel near the city's Dum Dum airport, during which the man was drugged and robbed, police disclosed.

Following a complaint filed by the victim, local authorities swiftly launched an investigation. Officers, disguised as potential suitors, tracked and apprehended the woman, leading to the arrest of her Bangladeshi accomplice.
