In a shocking case from Jharkhand's Palamu district, police have arrested a couple and three family members in connection with the alleged murder of their daughter, Vibha Kumari, 21, and her boyfriend, Subhash Kumar, 22. The bodies were found in a well, with evidence suggesting a chilling honor killing.
Authorities reported that Vibha's parents, Upendra Mahto and Kalawati Devi, vehemently opposed the young couple's relationship. Despite their urging to end the romance, Vibha refused, leading to a deadly conspiracy. On the night of August 1, the family allegedly lured Subhash to their home, murdered the couple, and disposed of their bodies in the well.
The investigation began after Subhash's brother, Jaiprakash Kumar, filed a complaint. Subsequent questioning of the suspects revealed the murder plot, with recovered evidence including a lathi and iron rod believed to be used in the crime. Signs of severe injuries and burns on Subhash's body add grim details to this unfolding investigation.
