A controversy has erupted in Patna over a complaint alleging that RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav possesses two voter ID cards. An inquiry into the matter has been initiated following the filing of a complaint at the Digha Police Station.
The Election Commission has requested Yadav to submit the contested voter ID card for further investigation, clarifying that there has been no change in Yadav's EPIC number as claimed. The commission noted that the number remained constant from the 2020 assembly elections.
Tensions rise as the draft electoral rolls come under scrutiny, with an instance of duplicate entries causing further concern. A Booth Level Officer in Begusarai district has been suspended for such discrepancies, intensifying the debate over the accuracy of Bihar's electoral processes.
