A significant drug operation in Assam's Cachar district has led to the seizure of narcotics valued at over Rs 7 crore. During two targeted operations, the police arrested five individuals and confiscated 216 grams of heroin, 20,000 Yaba tablets, and two vehicles.
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma lauded the state's police force for its relentless crackdown on illegal substances, announcing the successful operations through a social media post. He emphasized the state's zero-tolerance policy towards narcotics.
Legal actions are underway against those apprehended, as authorities continue their battle against drug trafficking. Notably, Yaba tablets, which contain methamphetamine, are prohibited due to their potential for abuse and harm.
