In a significant drug bust, two youths returning from Silchar, Assam, have been detained after authorities discovered over 23 grams of heroin on their person, police disclosed on Sunday.
Police officers, acting on a reliable tip-off, intercepted the bus from which the suspects were traveling. A thorough search revealed 23.24 grams of heroin meticulously concealed in two soap cases.
The individuals face charges under the stringent Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Investigations are ongoing to track down the main supplier, thought to operate out of Assam.
