The anti-terrorist operation in Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir persisted into its sixth consecutive day, as security forces intensified efforts to flush out insurgents entrenched in the forested region.
A senior police official confirmed the continued exchange of gunfire as law enforcement deployed drones and helicopters to locate and neutralize the militants. Since the operation began on Friday, two terrorists have been neutralized, while two security personnel sustained injuries during the clashes.
Despite an overnight pause in firing, reinforcements bolstered the cordon around Akhal, enabling forces to resume their offensive on Saturday morning. The identification and affiliations of the deceased terrorists remain unknown.
