The Rs 18,500 fine for traffic violations associated with the two-wheeler used by Karnataka's Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar has been settled, local authorities confirmed on Thursday.

The vehicle owner personally paid the outstanding amount at the RT Nagar Traffic Police Station on August 6. The series of fines, noted since Shivakumar's inspection ride, included habitual breaches like helmetless riding and mobile phone use.

Despite the fines, Shivakumar showcased a video on his official 'X' account, helmet-clad and riding the vehicle, as he announced the Hebbal flyover loop's opening on August 15.
