The Special Investigation Team (SIT) spearheading the inquiry into the mysterious murder of Mahadev Munde in Beed district has declared a cash reward. The reward amount, contingent on the quality of the information, is hoped to aid in solving the case that has remained unresolved since October 2023, a senior police official confirmed on Wednesday.

Mahadev Munde, who was a resident of Parli, was reported abducted on October 19, 2023, and his body was discovered three days later. Despite relentless efforts and the establishment of an SIT led by IPS officer Pankaj Kumawat, the investigation is hindered by allegations of pressure from an accused in a separate high-profile murder case.

In a desperate call for justice, Munde's wife, Dnyaneshwari, attempted suicide in protest of the delay in capturing the offenders. Her meeting with Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis resulted in the formation of the SIT, which has already made several site visits and consulted with the victim's family. The investigation team remains determined to apprehend the responsible individuals, according to statements from Munde's relatives.
