Excise Department’s Crackdown on Drug Peddlers Leads to Major Seizures
The Excise Department has arrested five individuals, including alleged drug peddlers, in separate operations, leading to the seizure of narcotics such as brown sugar, MDMA, and ganja. Following intelligence inputs, the State Task Force made these arrests at various locations, with four separate cases registered against the accused.

The Excise Department has intensified its crackdown on narcotics with the arrest of five individuals, including two alleged drug peddlers. Brown sugar, MDMA, and ganja were seized from various locations.
Based on specific intelligence, the Excise State Task Force (STF) conducted operations on Wednesday night to apprehend the accused. Two men from Malda, allegedly attempting to sell brown sugar in Khajaguda, were arrested with 66 grams of the substance in their possession.
In separate incidents, 5.14 grams of MDMA and substantial quantities of ganja were recovered in Serilingampally, while the STF seized 510 grams and 1.2 kilograms of ganja from two individuals elsewhere. A total of four cases have been filed, and arrests made, with further investigation ongoing, according to official reports.
