In a significant move, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced his government's intention to introduce a law aimed at ensuring the safety of advocates. Speaking at an event in Kolhapur, where Chief Justice of India B R Gavai inaugurated a new circuit bench for the Bombay High Court, Fadnavis emphasized the positive stance of his administration regarding this legislative demand.

Fadnavis reiterated the government's commitment to modernize and upgrade the state's court infrastructure, aiming to facilitate swifter justice delivery to the general public. The new circuit bench in Kolhapur marks the successful conclusion of a five-decade-long demand, representing a historic achievement for the region.

Highlighting the efforts leading up to this development, Fadnavis recalled the state cabinet's decision in 2015 to establish the circuit bench and highlighted the dedicated advocacy efforts by Minister Chandrakant Patil. The new bench is expected to drive comprehensive development in Kolhapur, elevating its status alongside other key regional centers.
