In a tragic incident in Uttar Pradesh's Baghpat, a 14-year-old madrasa student allegedly caused the death of an 11-month-old infant by hiding him inside a bed, according to local police reports.
The teenager, reportedly aggrieved after a beating by cleric Mufti Shahzad, hid the cleric's brother-in-law's adopted son in retaliation. The baby's body was discovered following a search prompted by a foul smell from the bed.
CCTV footage confirmed the student's actions, and during police questioning, she confessed. Further investigations are ongoing, with the infant's body sent for post-mortem examination.
