Authorities in Thane, Maharashtra have initiated legal action against a suspect accused of impersonating a travel agent and swindling Rs 3.77 lakh from an individual by promising international flight tickets. The incident unfolded when the victim, a 32-year-old from Silchar, Rajasthan, found the tickets to be fake, revealing the deception.

The complainant had transferred Rs 3,77,916 via UPI, persuaded by the accused to book tickets for sending two relatives overseas for employment. Upon discovering the fraud, the victim's attempts to contact the accused resulted in false promises, followed by the accused severing all communication.

Mira Road police have registered the case on August 15, charging the accused with cheating and forgery. The investigation is ongoing as authorities seek to unravel the full extent of the scam.
