ED Targets Celebrities in 1xBet Online Betting Scandal

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has intensified its investigation into a money laundering case related to the illegal online betting app, 1xBet. In a major development, the ED has summoned former cricketers Robin Uthappa and Yuvraj Singh, along with actor Sonu Sood, to appear for questioning next week.
Sources reveal that Uthappa, Singh, and Sood have been asked to record statements under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). Uthappa is scheduled to appear on September 22, followed by Singh on September 23, and Sood on September 24. This forms part of a broader inquiry involving several high-profile figures.
Also under scrutiny are former cricketers Suresh Raina and Shikhar Dhawan, alongside ex-TMC MP and actor Mimi Chakraborty, who recently had their statements recorded. Bengali actor Ankush Hazra has appeared for questioning, while actor Urvashi Rautela is pending appearance. The ED is probing alleged tax evasion and cheating linked to the betting company 1xBet.
