Punjab Police Crackdown: 61 Arrested in 5G Infrastructure Theft
The Punjab Police have arrested 61 individuals and filed 95 FIRs in a crackdown on thefts involving critical 5G telecom infrastructure. A Special Investigation Team (SIT) was established to tackle the issue, leading to significant recoveries of stolen 5G equipment.

The Punjab Police announced the arrest of 61 individuals and the registration of 95 FIRs as part of their extensive crackdown on the theft of essential 5G telecom infrastructure.
In response to increasing reports of such thefts, DGP Gaurav Yadav ordered the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) led by DIG Rajpal Sandhu.
Working with district police units, the SIT has made significant recoveries, focusing on GUC1 cards crucial for 4G and 5G transmissions. An investigation into potential insider involvement is still underway.
