In a brazen heist, three masked men armed with pistols and knives looted a nationalised bank, making away with over Rs 21 crore in cash and gold. The incident occurred at the State Bank of India's Chadchan branch, police reported on Wednesday.

The robbery took place around 6.30 pm on Tuesday when the assailants threatened bank staff under the pretext of opening a current account. They tied up employees before fleeing with cash and gold, estimated at Rs 21 crore.

Vijaypura Superintendent Laxman Nimbargi revealed that the suspects fled in a Suzuki EVA with a fake plate towards Maharashtra. Massive efforts are underway to apprehend the culprits, as Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has urged the police to bolster security measures.
