The mysterious disappearance of Subhamitra Sahoo, a 25-year-old traffic constable, has come to a tragic conclusion. Her body was discovered buried in an Odisha jungle, according to police sources on Wednesday.
Subhamitra, originally from Paradip in Jagatsinghpur district and posted in Bhubaneswar, vanished on September 6 after heading to work. A missing person's report was filed by her mother, Sukanti Sahoo, on September 7, prompting investigations.
The investigation quickly turned to her husband, Deepak Rout, who emerged as the prime suspect. Married since July 2024, financial disputes seem to have motivated the crime, with Deepak reported to have taken around Rs 10 lakh from Subhamitra. The murder, followed by burying her in Keonjhar's Ghatagaon area, underscores the tragic end to financial discord.
