Call for Justice: Kerala CM Demands Inquiry into Assault on Students

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has appealed to Union Home Minister Amit Shah for a probe into an alleged incident involving the assault of two Kerala students in Delhi. The attack supposedly happened due to the students not speaking Hindi, highlighting issues of cultural insensitivity.

Vijayan's letter to Shah identified the victims as Ashwant and K Sudhin, students at Zakir Husain Delhi College. He condemned the incident as deeply regrettable and demanded accountability, urging strict action if the police officers are found culpable.

The Chief Minister stressed the importance of respecting the linguistic and cultural diversity of students from various states. He warned that police misconduct could embolden others to harass students who migrate for education or work.
