In a grim discovery, two decomposed bodies were found on Thursday in a forest near Kishwa Darauli village, Kanpur Rural district. The police reported the bodies appeared to be those of Umakant, from Rajpura village, and his 16-year-old sister-in-law.
The male body was primarily skeletal, indicating animal activity, while the female body was found in stagnant water and showed severe decomposition. Both individuals had been missing since September 25, amid family tensions allegedly caused by a relationship between them.
Circle Officer Sanjay Kumar Singh stated an Aadhaar card discovered with the male body tentatively identified him as Umakant. The bodies have been sent for a post-mortem, and further investigations are ongoing to determine the events leading to this tragic outcome.
