Karnataka's Impactful Karnataka Government Five Guarantees

The Karnataka government's five guarantees have led to transformative changes in the state, according to a recent study involving four renowned research and academic institutions. Congressional officials touted these programs as pivotal in empowering families to make long-term investments in health and education, thereby strengthening local economies.

Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh highlighted the increased mobility and empowerment of women due to the 'shakti' guarantee, which offers free bus travel. The study revealed that this initiative enabled 19% of women beneficiaries to find jobs or improve their employment prospects, with numbers rising to 34% in urban Bengaluru.

Additional guarantees, such as Gruha Lakshmi, Anna Bhagya, Gruha Jyoti, and Yuva Nidhi, have similarly shown positive results. Families reported enhanced dietary quality, healthcare access, and educational spending. The programs have therefore not only improved individual well-being but have also contributed to greater demand and strengthened local economies.
