Former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda on Friday targeted the Congress government in Karnataka, accusing it of financial mismanagement through its 'five guarantee' schemes. He claimed the schemes have left the state ill-equipped to deal with severe flooding in six districts, including Kalaburagi.
Gowda announced plans to visit the flood-affected areas within a week to assess the damage personally. The floods, exacerbated by water release from Maharashtra's dams, have severely impacted regions like Kalaburagi, Vijayapura, Bidar, and Yadgir. The former prime minister intends to meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi to seek compensation for those affected.
Please note the JD(S)-BJP coalition remains stable, Gowda asserted, and he expressed intentions to win significant seats in the forthcoming Bengaluru Municipal Corporation elections. His relationship with PM Modi remains strong, as Gowda highlighted his history of respectful interactions with the Prime Minister.
