The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has filed a chargesheet against four individuals, including two arrested and two absconding Khalistani operatives, for orchestrating a grenade attack on the residence of former Punjab minister Manoranjan Kalia in Jalandhar. This development was confirmed by officials on Sunday.
The chargesheet, submitted to a Chandigarh court, identifies the arrested individuals as Saidul Ameen from Uttar Pradesh and Abhijot Jangra from Haryana. The absconders are named as Kulbir Singh Sidhu from Yamunanagar and Manish alias Kaka Rana from Karnal, both in Haryana. The NIA took charge of the investigation on April 12, just days after the April 7, 2025, attack.
Officials reported that Sidhu and Manish, linked to the banned terrorist group Babbar Khalsa International (BKI), orchestrated the attack to instill fear and raise funds for BKI through extortion. A red corner notice and a Rs 10 lakh reward have been announced for Sidhu's arrest, highlighting intensified efforts to apprehend the absconders and other BKI operatives in India.
