An Indian-origin man, Sukhpreet Singh, has been extradited from Texas to Canada following his arrest by the United States Marshals Service.
Singh, 25, is implicated in the 2021 assault of Elnaz Hajtamiri in Canada and was apprehended in June before being charged in August, according to York Regional Police.
His extradition brings to eight the individuals charged in the case, with investigations ongoing into Hajtamiri's disappearance and a CAD 100,000 reward offered for information.
