The Maharashtra State Election Commission has given its approval to the ward boundaries for the upcoming Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections, as disclosed by officials on Monday.
The finalized ward structure has been officially published in the Maharashtra government gazette and is now accessible on the BMC's official website.
Before finalizing the ward formation, the commission reviewed 492 suggestions and objections, received by the September 4 deadline, over a period from September 11 to September 13.
Previously, a draft delimitation notification was issued on August 22, describing the proposed geographical boundaries of BMC wards, inviting public input in the form of suggestions and objections.
Elections for several civic corporations throughout Maharashtra, including the financially significant BMC, are anticipated to take place by the end of this year.
