The Delhi High Court on Wednesday issued notices to actor Shahrukh Khan, his production house Red Chillies Entertainment, and streaming giant Netflix. This action came about following a defamation suit filed by IRS officer Sameer Wankhede, who alleges that their series, 'The Ba***ds of Bollywood,' maligns his reputation.

Justice Purushaindra Kumar Kaurav, who is overseeing the case, summoned the defendants, including entities such as X Corp, Google, and Meta Platforms, to present their replies within a week. A hearing on the responses is scheduled for October 30. The plaintiff is seeking damages of Rs 2 crore, which he intends to donate for cancer treatment if awarded.

Wankhede's legal plea claims the series negatively portrays anti-drug enforcement bodies, thus eroding public trust in law enforcement. He describes the series as a premeditated attack on his reputation, particularly as related legal proceedings are ongoing concerning the officer and Shahrukh Khan's son, Aryan Khan.
