Rajasthan Police Freezes Drug Trafficker's Assets in Major Crackdown

In a decisive action against drug trade, the police in Rajasthan's Jhalawar district have frozen assets exceeding Rs 2.5 crore of a suspected narcotics trafficker. The move, in line with the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, was announced by Superintendent of Police Amit Kumar on Tuesday.

The assets belong to Liaqat Khan, a resident of Chachurni village, who has been implicated in several narcotics-related charges. This clampdown is a significant part of 'Operation Divya Prahar 2.0,' which aims to dismantle financial networks supporting narcotics trafficking. Authorities have previously seized over 3,100 kg of illegal substances, with a black market valuation of roughly Rs 4.83 crore.

Approved by the competent authority, the action involves freezing both movable and immovable properties allegedly purchased through drug trade proceeds. The seizure prevents Khan and his associates from using, selling, or transferring these assets. Police have also prepared a confidential database to target financial networks of other suspected drug syndicates, coordinating closely with the district administration and related departments.
