Russia's Federal Security Service (FSB) announced on Friday that it successfully thwarted a planned terrorist attack targeting senior officials at the telecom watchdog, Roskomnadzor. The Interfax news agency reported the incident.
According to FSB statements, the leader of the group planning the attack was shot dead while resisting arrest. In total, authorities detained seven individuals, uncovering connections to Ukrainian paramilitary units during the operation.
FSB sources revealed that the attack, scheduled for April 18, 2026, involved detonating a vehicle using an explosive device. However, Reuters has been unable to verify the reported details immediately.
