A female assistant loco pilot from Southern Railway's Salem Division has demanded stricter action against a chief loco inspector after alleging sexual assault during an examination for an orientation course on September 13 last year. Despite evidence and the internal committee's findings, actions were limited to a transfer and a warning.
The accused inspector, T Selvaraj, allegedly breached the victim's personal space. In her complaint, the pilot explained that the incident was more than mere physical contact; it was aggravated sexual harassment. Despite an apology from Selvaraj, seeking to dismiss the incident, the victim continues her fight for justice.
The Internal Complaints Committee recommended steps like CCTV installations for safer office environments. However, the assistant pilot criticized their recommendations as inadequate and painful, urging for more confidential and harsh measures against the misconduct.
