Major Cannabis Seizure Marks Significant Drug Bust in Himachal

In a major drug bust, police have arrested Pankaj Kumar and seized over 5 kilograms of charas, marking it as one of the largest contraband recoveries in the state this year.
Pankaj Kumar, a 30-year-old resident of Upper Dadh village in Palampur tehsil, was apprehended following a tip-off about his activities. He was reportedly traveling on a Himachal Road Transport Corporation bus towards Baga Sarahan when police stopped the vehicle near Sainj on National Highway 05.
Upon searching the bus, authorities discovered that Kumar was in possession of approximately 5.652 kg of cannabis. Senior Superintendent of Police Shimla, Gaurav Singh, confirmed that a case has been registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985, and further investigation is underway.
