The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has issued a lookout notice for Kolkata Police Deputy Commissioner Shantanu Sinha Biswas amid a money laundering investigation, according to officials.
The notice was prompted by Biswas's repeated absences from scheduled agency summons. To prevent potential flight from India, alerts have been dispatched to airports, railway stations, and transit terminals, sources informed PTI.
As part of the probe, ED conducted a raid on Biswas's Kolkata home during the recent state assembly elections. Additionally, he faces scrutiny regarding a sand smuggling case and alleged financial misconduct, yet has consistently failed to appear in person for questioning.
