Bridging Continents: India-EU Discuss Mobility & Migration
India and the European Union have engaged in talks to enhance cooperation under a newly signed mobility framework. Minister Kirti Vardhan Singh met with EU Commissioner Magnus Brunner in New York to review progress. The agreement focuses on safer migration for Indian professionals, researchers, and students.
India has recently engaged in bilateral talks with the European Union, focusing on mobility and migration. This follows the signing of a cooperation framework earlier this year aimed at fostering better mobility between the regions.
Minister of State for External Affairs, Kirti Vardhan Singh, held a meeting with EU Commissioner for Internal Affairs and Migration, Magnus Brunner, in New York on the periphery of the second International Migration Review Forum. The discussions touched upon developments in the India-EU comprehensive framework and highlighted the recently opened Legal Gateway Office in India's ICT Sector.
The agreement signed in January seeks to streamline immigration processes, making migration more accessible and secure for Indian professionals. Singh is also set to discuss India's digital strides in migration governance at a special side event. These developments are key to harnessing technology for safer and more equitable migration practices.
