In a significant breakthrough, Ahmedabad police have detained Bhavesh Patel, accused of dispatching bomb threat emails to the Gujarat State Aviation Infrastructure Company Ltd (GUJSAIL) and various schools in March this year.
Deputy Commissioner Lavina Sinha of the Cyber Crime Branch identified Patel, a 40-year-old Ahmedabad resident, as the mind behind the threatening messages. A rigorous investigation tracked the emails to a digital account under Patel's control. His apprehension has initiated further inquiries into any possible terrorist links or affiliations with anti-national entities.
The investigation began on March 25 after a chilling email about potential bombings at GUJSAIL and local schools reached authorities. Patel, a businessman involved in construction and airport event management, confessed his email's involvement. Yet, investigators are probing whether he acted alone or under duress. The case unfolds with potential broader implications.
