In a grim report released by the International Red Cross Committee, Colombia's humanitarian crisis reached the highest levels seen in a decade during 2025 due to escalating violence and human rights violations by armed groups.
According to official figures, 235,619 individuals faced displacement, while mass displacement impacted 87,069 people. Confinement incidents, where mobility was restricted by armed groups, affected 176,730 individuals.
The report highlighted a 34% rise in mine-related injuries or deaths and documented 308 new disappearances. The violence has severely strained the lives of civilians, including health workers, resulting in numerous injuries and assaults.
