Maharashtra ATS Cracks Down on Pakistani Gangster Links

The Maharashtra Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) launched a widespread operation on Wednesday, conducting raids at over 40 locations across the state, including the metropolis of Mumbai. The aim was to target individuals suspected of connections with a gangster based in Pakistan, officials reported.

During the operation, around 40 suspects were questioned, according to an ATS official. The squad had gathered specific intelligence about questionable activities of persons suspected of being in contact with the overseas gangster, Shahzad Bhatti, and his syndicate, the official stated.

Shahzad Bhatti, whose criminal network is managed from abroad, was reportedly attempting to influence young people in India to engage in unlawful acts. The raids took place from the early hours of the day across various locations, including Mumbai, Akola, Nanded, Pune, Mira Road in Thane district, among other places throughout Maharashtra, he added.
