The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) revisited the crime scene of the suspected murder of West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari's aide, Chandranath Rath, in North 24 Parganas district, on Wednesday. This marks the agency's second visit following their take over of the investigation into Rath's death.

After a request from the state government, the CBI assumed control of the case from the state police and launched an FIR. A seven-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been formed, employing advanced 3D scanners to construct a digital map of the site, assisting in a meticulous forensic reconstruction of the events that culminated in Rath's killing.

Three suspects have been apprehended from Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, identified as Mayank Raj Mishra, Vicky Maurya, and Raj Singh. These arrests follow what BJP leaders have termed a 'planned assassination' with investigators working rigorously to dismantle the alleged conspiracy that led to the fatal shooting of Rath.
