Ukraine's state nuclear operator, Energoatom, revealed on Wednesday that it has initiated an internal investigation regarding potential criminal activities involving some of its officials. This announcement follows a notification from Ukraine's anti-corruption body.
In a company statement, Energoatom confirmed the suspension of the implicated employees as part of the ongoing inquiry.
The supervisory board acted on a referral received on May 8, 2026, from the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine. This referral highlighted alleged criminal offenses committed by certain company officials, which were further substantiated by an independent complaint.
