Odisha Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida marked a significant social initiative by attending a mass marriage event in Keonjhar district, where 39 couples tied the knot under the 'Mukhyamantri Kanya Bibaha' Yojana. Initiated by the Women and Child Development Department, the event was held at Shankarpur Sports Complex.

The scheme aims to uplift economically weaker families, providing financial support of Rs 60,000 per eligible beneficiary. Out of this, Rs 45,000 is directly transferred to their bank accounts, while Rs 15,000 is allocated for the wedding arrangements. Parida emphasized the scheme's role in combating social issues like child marriage.

During her visit, Parida reviewed infrastructure at Anganwadi centres, checked on children's nutritional status, and assessed developmental works, ensuring effective utilization of District Mineral Foundation funds. Parida also stressed the importance of completing development projects on time to benefit the community.
