Tensions in Manipur escalated on Wednesday evening after a violent attack left one individual dead and another injured. The incident took place in Noney district, with militants believed to be responsible for the assault on their vehicle.
The victims, identified as Wilson Thanga and his wife, were en route to their home in Dolang village from Imphal when gunmen opened fire, claiming Thanga's life instantly and injuring his spouse.
This attack follows closely on the heels of another tragedy earlier in the day, where three church leaders were killed by suspected militants in Kangpokpi district, escalating concerns over safety and security in the region.
